A question of protocol.
“Trick or treat!” Kyle said, holding up his orange jack-o-lantern bucket.
“Happy Hallowe’en,” said the nice lady.
Kyle watched her drop a treat into his bucket.
“You gave me money!” he said, clearly amazed.
“Yes,” said the nice lady.
Kyle, nonplussed, exclaimed, “I need candy!”
